Welcome to HPN

Help People in Need is a government approved Non-Government Organization (NGO) authorized by the government of Zambia. Formed in 2024, our goal is to provide critical support to underserved people in the country of Zambia through infrastructure, supplemental support to existing government or private organizations, or directly to people in the community.

HOW WE OPERATE

  • Work with the community and local government to identify and define needs

  • Identify the root problem/cause or issue

  • Craft workable achievable solutions

  • Raise Funds: On our web site, provide project descriptions including budget, scope (what we intend to do) so you can select efforts that you are interested in participating

  • Track fund-raising progress so you can see how donations are tracking to budget/goals

We like the idea of donors being able to see what is going on and see where their money is going. Small to medium projects can be funded by a relatively small number of donors and can put your donation to work faster than large projects.

Large or small, your donations, make a real difference in the lives of real people.

CLEAN WATER

Clean and reliable water resources are not available in large portions of Zambia. Dirty water is a major source of pathogens that cause illness. We see clean water supplies as a foundational element to support community health and welfare. And while these projects are more capital intensive and have larger budgets, cost benefit is terrific when we can stop disease at the source.

At this time Donations are not tax deductible in the United States.

HPN Volunteers and prisoners bringing HPN medical supplies to a local men's prison in Chingola.

Our current operations are centered around the city of Chingola, a city of 260,000 people in the north-central Copperbelt Province, some 350 miles North Northwest from the Capital. More information about the country and our location, click here or on the Menu.

Installations and HPN efforts will be targeted within workable radius around Chingola to support oversight, delivery and problem solving and to not stretch our resources too thin. This is very important especially as it related to site selection and monitoring of capital improvements and building relationships with the local community leaders.

Early discussion between Dr. Bankayor and Mr. Todd in the US discussed ways that would provide clean water. After discussions with Dr. Katika, who runs the Chingola most-bodaciously cool medical clinic in the area
